Beginning July 27, 2025, Washington public facilities districts collecting taxes under RCW 82.14.390 or 82.14.485 must report bond payoff dates. They must notify the Department of Revenue in writing of the actual date the covered bonds will be fully paid. Notice is due at least 75 days before that date. This requirement does not itself change tax rates or create household payments or benefits.
Beginning July 27, 2025, local authorities contracting with Washington’s Department of Revenue must send written notice of sales and use tax changes. They must include the signed ordinance or resolution. Annexation notices must include the complete ordinance, a legal description, a boundary map, and included parcel numbers. Existing timing rules remain: most changes require at least 75 days’ notice and start only on January 1, April 1, or July 1. Changes credited against state tax require at least 30 days’ notice and start on the first day of a month. These notice requirements do not themselves change tax rates.
