Beginning July 27, 2025, Washington park and recreation districts can include public libraries in their community centers. A library must occupy less than 50 percent of the center’s usable space. It must follow state library law under chapter 27.12 RCW. The law does not require districts to open centers or libraries. It sets no funding amounts and provides no new appropriations.
