Beginning July 1, 2026, Washington removes certain vehicle identification number (VIN) inspection requirements for off-road vehicles. All-terrain vehicles, wheeled all-terrain vehicles, and utility-type vehicles are exempt from the checks in RCW 46.12.560(1) through (3). Vehicles titled under chapter 46.09 RCW are exempt from all VIN inspection requirements in RCW 46.12.560. These exemptions remove an inspection step for owners applying for titles.
