Bail recovery agents can’t enforce immigration

Beginning July 27, 2025, bail bond recovery agents cannot use their job to enforce civil immigration warrants. They also cannot share a defendant’s immigration status outside their agency’s business. Doing either is unprofessional conduct and can lead to license discipline. This protects defendants, including noncitizens, during bail and recovery work.
