Beginning June 11, 2026, Washington local health boards can allow longer supervised work by noncertified staff. These staff can review on-site wastewater system designs or inspect systems under a certified person's supervision. The allowed period increases from two years to no more than four years after hire. The law does not add state funding, taxes, or fees.
