The Division of Natural Resources works with the motor vehicles agency to add a decal or sticker to your driver’s license. It shows you hold the senior Class XS hunting license.
Beginning June 11, 2026, residents who turn 65 on or after January 1, 2012 use the Class XS lifetime license. If you turned 65 on or before December 31, 2011, you can choose to buy it. You must have lived in West Virginia for 30 straight days before you apply. The one-time fee is $25 and it counts as a base license. It lets you hunt, trap, fish, and take frogs statewide, and you do not pay Class CS or Class O stamp fees.
