Potomac State students gain paid learning access

Potomac State College of West Virginia University is eligible for Learn and Earn beyond its former pilot period. The program lets participating students earn pay through full-time work while completing technical studies. The law removes the 2023–2024 through 2025–2026 academic-year limit and the required review of whether the pilot should continue. The college must apply for a grant with one or more employer partners. Employers must provide a dollar-for-dollar cash match; goods or services cannot replace cash. Grants depend on available Workforce Development Initiative funds and the council’s program rules; college funding and student participation are not guaranteed.
