More funding for West Virginia Medicaid

Beginning March 14, 2026, West Virginia adds about $174.75 million for Medicaid. Medical services get about $174.48 million, and administrative costs get $268,451. The Department of Human Services receives this money from the unused Health Care Provider Tax – Medicaid State Share Fund balance. This one-time increase covers fiscal year 2026, ending June 30, 2026. It supports program operations but does not change Medicaid eligibility or individual benefit amounts.
