Wyoming provides monthly benefits to surviving spouses of law enforcement retirement program members killed in the line of duty. The payment equals 90% of the member’s salary. The spouse also receives 6% of that salary for each child under 18. This benefit replaces the existing death-benefit rules for these line-of-duty deaths. The law took effect immediately upon becoming law and applies to payments made on or after that date.
