Concealed carry permits at 18

Beginning July 1, 2026, you can get a Wyoming concealed carry permit at age 18. You still must meet all other legal requirements and pass any required checks. Permits remain valid statewide for five years. When you carry concealed, you must carry your permit and ID and show them to a peace officer on request.

Personal immunity for permit officials

Starting July 1, 2026, the Attorney General and state investigators are not personally liable for issuing, denying, or revoking concealed carry permits. Sheriffs, police chiefs, and some staff also are not personally liable for certain information they submit under the permit law. Government agencies can still be sued under Wyoming’s governmental liability law. The act also removes an obsolete subsection (j) of the permit statute.
