Starting July 1, 2026, $492,100 pays for regional economic modeling software and maintenance through June 30, 2028. Unused money from certain 2024 and 2025 education appropriations does not revert on June 30, 2026. That money is reappropriated for July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2028 to hire consultants for K–12 responsibilities, issues, and studies, with Management Council approval.
After the 2026 election is certified, legislator elects and new appointees can get mileage, per diem, and a day’s salary for each day of training or assigned interim meetings, with $34,000 provided and Management Council approval. Starting July 1, 2026, legislators can be reimbursed for approved out-of-state travel and per diem under Council policies. Legislators may also be reimbursed for approved out-of-state or international trips to promote Wyoming’s economy, covering actual travel, lodging, meals, and incidentals; the Council may favor members who plan to serve in 2027–2028. Starting July 1, 2026, $20,000 covers registration, mileage, and per diem to attend the State Treasurer’s Investment Conference in the 2026 or 2027 interim. Effective immediately, $25,000 pays salary, mileage, and per diem for members of the Capitol interpretive exhibits and wayfinding subcommittee.
The law provides $26,118,778 from the general fund to run the Wyoming Legislature from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2028. This pays salaries, benefits, travel, dues, tech and office support, and publications. The Management Council can move money between line items as needs change. Any unspent 2024 extraordinary expense funds do not revert on June 30, 2026 and remain available through June 30, 2028 at the Council’s direction. Any balance from prior legislative laptop sales on June 30, 2026 carries over to buy replacement laptops and support through June 30, 2028.
