Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

4 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 1 mixed.

Clear age and residency to vote

Beginning June 1, 2026, Wyoming uses the same basic test for a qualified elector in general and when a law is silent. You qualify if you will be 18 on the next election day and have lived in Wyoming at least 30 days before that election. These definitions apply statewide for voter qualification.

When you can register to vote

Beginning June 1, 2026, you can register no later than 14 days before an election. You must be 18 by that election and cannot vote until you turn 18. You must have lived in Wyoming at least 30 days before that election.

Signed oath on voter registration

Beginning June 1, 2026, your voter registration form must include your full signature under an oath. The oath says you are a U.S. citizen and live in Wyoming and your county. It says you lived in the state at least 30 days before the next election and will be 18 by that election. It says you are not adjudicated mentally incompetent, and if you have a felony, your rights are restored. You also request withdrawal of any prior registration elsewhere and affirm your information is true.
