Rogers Corporation is a mid-cap U.S. materials company that quietly sits under radar, telecom, automotive and space at once. Its RT/duroid and RO-series high-frequency laminates are the specialty circuit substrates on which radio-frequency and microwave systems are built — and the same laminate family runs through military and aerospace radar and antennas, automotive ADAS radar that lets cars "see," 5G base-station antennas, and satellite payloads. Standard FR-4 board material won't perform at these frequencies; only a few makers produce qualified high-frequency laminates, and Rogers is the leader. So a single, little-known materials supplier is embedded in defense radar, the self-driving-car sensor stack, the mobile network and the space industry simultaneously — four critical domains depending on one specialty film.

High-frequency laminate is a sticky, design-locked chokepoint. Qualifying a specific RF/microwave laminate into a radar, antenna or aerospace design involves extensive electrical characterization and certification, so once a system is designed around Rogers' RT/duroid or RO-series material, substituting another supplier's laminate is impractical without re-engineering and re-qualifying the product. That gives Rogers (alongside a few peers such as Isola and AGC/Taconic) durable, defensible positions specifically in defense and aerospace, where the cost and time of changing material qualification far exceeds the price of the laminate itself — supplier power rooted in qualification lock-in rather than market share.
