Solar evaporation ponds at the southern Dead Sea basin. Potash extracted from Dead Sea brine via pumping into pans, solar evaporation, and flotation/crystallization. Produced 2.84M MT in 2024 (record). The Dead Sea has lost 1/3 of its surface area since 1960; brine levels and mineral concentrations are changing, creating a long-term geological constraint on production economics.
