Aurubis Hamburg Smelter & Refinery
Europe's largest copper smelter and refinery, operating continuously since 1866. Processes both primary copper concentrate and secondary scrap copper feedstocks; ~1 million tonnes cathode/year. Recipient of both South American concentrate and European industrial scrap copper. Hamburg port location enables direct ocean vessel feedstock delivery. The Hamburg facility is one of the largest single copper processing sites in the world outside China and is the anchor of European copper recycling.
