Facility
Ras Laffan Helium Production Complex (Qatar)
World's largest helium production complex. Produces ~30–32% of global crude helium as a byproduct of LNG liquefaction from the North Field gas reservoir. Ras Laffan complex includes Helium 1 (operated by Air Products/Qatargas, ~0.84 Bcf/yr) and Helium 2 (operated by Linde/RasGas, ~0.76 Bcf/yr) — the two largest helium liquefaction plants in the world. A hurricane, maintenance outage, or geopolitical event at this single complex would immediately affect global semiconductor fab operations.
