HeidelbergMaterials Brevik CCS Plant
World's first commercial-scale cement CCS facility. Commissioned June 2025. Captures 400,000 tonnes CO₂/yr (~50% of plant emissions) via SLB Capturi technology. CO₂ liquefied and shipped to North Sea geological storage (Longship project, Norwegian government-funded). Only proven industrial-scale cement decarbonization facility in operation globally.
