Hubei Xingfa Yichang Chemical Complex (Yangtze River)
Hubei Xingfa Chemical primary production complex in Yichang, Hubei Province, on the Yangtze River 40 km downstream from the Three Gorges Dam. Electric arc furnace P4 production; downstream phosphorus chemicals (PCl3, glyphosate, HEDP, ATMP, phosphoric acid). Estimated P4 capacity 150,000-200,000 tonnes/year. Grid power sourced from Three Gorges hydroelectric. During the September 2021 Chinese energy crisis, Yichang industrial facilities (including Xingfa) received power rationing orders from the Hubei grid authority, forcing P4 furnace curtailments.
