ICL Rotem Negev Desert Phosphate Complex
ICL Rotem (formerly Rotem Amfert Negev) phosphate rock mining and wet-process phosphoric acid production complex in the Negev Desert. Phosphate rock from open-pit mines at Oron and Zin deposits. Phosphoric acid produced by wet-process (sulfuric acid digestion — NOT thermal P4 route). Produces merchant-grade phosphoric acid (MGA 54% P2O5) and phosphate fertilizers. ICL Rotem historically 3-4 million tonnes/year phosphate rock concentrate output — one of the largest single-site phosphate operations in the Middle East.
