    Cathode and anode material synthesis

    Cathode active material (NMC via co-precipitation + calcination; LFP via hydrothermal synthesis); synthetic graphite anode via petroleum coke graphitization at 2800–3000 °C.

  2. 02

    Slurry preparation and electrode coating

    Active material mixed with PVDF binder and carbon black into slurry; slot-die coated onto Al foil (cathode) or Cu foil (anode); dried in long conveyor ovens.

  3. 03

    Calendering and slitting

    Electrode rolls compressed (calendered) to target porosity and density; slit to precise width for cell format (cylindrical, prismatic, or pouch).

  4. 04

    Cell assembly — winding or stacking

    Cylindrical/prismatic cells: jellyroll winding of anode-separator-cathode-separator layers. Pouch cells: Z-fold or flat stacking of electrode sheets.

  5. 05

    Electrolyte filling and sealing

    LiPF6 salt dissolved in organic carbonates (EC + DMC + EMC) injected under vacuum into cell housing; sealed by laser welding (cylindrical/prismatic) or heat-sealing (pouch).

  6. 06

    Formation cycling and aging

    Initial charge/discharge cycles grow stable SEI (solid electrolyte interphase) layer; pouch cells degassed. Cells aged 2–4 weeks at temperature to detect self-discharge defects.

  7. 07

    Module and pack assembly

    Cells laser-welded into modules; BMS, thermal management (liquid cooling plates or air cooling), structural housing integrated; high-voltage busbars connected.

  8. 08

    Testing, grading, and QC

    Capacity grading, impedance spectroscopy, hi-pot dielectric testing, cycle life sampling, X-ray inspection for internal defects; cells sorted by capacity bin.
