Lynas Advanced Materials Plant (LAMP) — Kuantan, Malaysia
The world's only significant non-China commercial rare earth separation plant. Processes Mount Weld concentrate into separated rare earth oxides including NdPr. Capacity: ~21,000 MT NdPr/year. Operating license from Malaysia renewed (after significant environmental/political controversy over radioactive waste disposal). Lynas also commissioned a new cracking & leaching facility in Kalgoorlie WA (reducing some LAMP dependence) and is building a US separation facility in Texas with DoD support.
