Nutrien Vanscoy Potash Mine — Saskatchewan
Operating since 1969; 192M+ MT of potash ore mined since opening. Uses solution mining components. Fresh water supplied via 20km pipeline from the Saskatchewan River — the only potash mine in SK with a river water dependency of this scale. Waste NaCl brine injected into Winnipeg/Deadwood Formations at 1,500-1,700m depth via provincially licensed disposal wells. Aquifer disposal capacity is a finite resource; licensed rates are regulated by Saskatchewan's Ministry of Energy and Resources.
