Facility
Panhandle Eastern — Hutchinson Compressor Station (Kansas)
Panhandle Eastern's Hutchinson, Kansas compressor station is a critical node on the original Panhandle Eastern Pipeline routing from the Hugoton/Anadarko producing basins northeastward through the Midwest corn belt. The Kansas station is one of the entry points where Midcontinent production enters the system for delivery to Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio grain-drying markets. Natural gas storage fields in Kansas (Hugoton and Central Kansas Uplift) are co-located with this pipeline infrastructure and provide seasonal injection/withdrawal to buffer fall harvest demand spikes.
