Trench Austria GmbH — Leonding Production Site (Upper Austria)
Primary bushing production facility for Trench Group, located in Leonding, Upper Austria (near Linz). Manufactures high-voltage oil-paper (OIP) and resin-impregnated paper (RIP/RIS) transformer bushings. In 2024, Trench Austria invested €16 million in capacity expansion; a further €31 million planned for 2025, effectively doubling production capacity at this site. This expansion is a direct response to the global transformer shortage and HVDC renewable energy infrastructure buildout. Trench Austria is also supplying HVDC DC Wall Bushings to GE Vernova Grid Solutions (agreement October 2024) for offshore wind and long-distance HVDC transmission projects.
