Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle A— General Military Law › Part IV— SERVICE, SUPPLY, AND PROPERTY › Chapter 159— REAL PROPERTY; RELATED PERSONAL PROPERTY; AND LEASE OF NON-EXCESS PROPERTY › § 2695
The Secretary of a military department may take money from a person or group that is not part of the Federal Government to pay administrative costs when working on certain real property deals. This covers five kinds of deals, such as exchanges, easements, leases or licenses, some disposals where the Secretary acts as disposal agent, and conveyances under section 2694a. The Secretary can put the collected money back into the account that paid the costs or into another appropriate account that is currently available for the same purpose. The money is merged with that account and can be used under the same rules and limits.
