Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle A— General Military Law › Part I— ORGANIZATION AND GENERAL MILITARY POWERS › Chapter 21— DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE INTELLIGENCE MATTERS › Subchapter I— GENERAL MATTERS › § 425
You must not knowingly use the names, initials, or official seals of these agencies on products, in impersonations, in solicitations, or in other business uses if doing so would make people think the agencies or their leaders approve or authorize it, unless you have written permission from both the Secretary of Defense and the Director of National Intelligence. The covered agencies are the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA), Defense Mapping Agency (DMA), and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). If the Attorney General believes someone is doing or will do this, they can go to a U.S. district court to stop it. The court must move quickly and can issue temporary orders or bans to prevent harm before a final decision.
