Summary

Use the rules in sections 633 through 636 for retiring officers who are in the competitive categories named by this subchapter. Sections 638 and 638a also apply to the retirements of those same officers.

(a)Sections 633 through 636 of this title shall apply to the retirement of officers in competitive categories of officers designated for purposes of this subchapter.

(b)section 638 and 638a of this title shall apply to the retirement of officers described in subsection (a).
