Title 16 › Chapter 33— COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT › § 1456c
The Secretary must run a program that gives technical help and management research to help states update and carry out their coastal management plans and to support international coastal work. Federal departments and agencies may help by sharing information, loaning staff with their consent, doing research, or otherwise assisting, with or without payment. The Secretary can hire outside experts. The Secretary must coordinate this work with other federal activities, share research results with coastal states through reports, workshops, or other ways, and consult regularly with the states about the program.
