Summary

The Secretary of the Interior must take exclusive charge of Lassen Volcanic National Park. They must quickly make and publish rules to care for, protect, manage, and improve the park. The rules should let people enjoy the park for recreation while protecting timber, minerals, and natural features and keeping the area as natural as possible. The Secretary must stop wasteful killing or capture of fish and wildlife, especially for sale, and may take any actions needed to carry out these goals and those in sections 201 and 203. The Secretary may lease land for buildings and homes: up to 10 acres at one site for visitor buildings, and up to 1 acre for summer homes or cottages, each lease for up to 20 years and renewable. No one can get exclusive rights except on leased land. Park rules must also cover use of automobiles and reasonable grazing of stock.
