After the peace memorial is set up under section 433a, the Secretary of the Interior may accept donations of land, land interests, buildings, structures, other property, and money to expand, buy, or care for the memorial. Proof of ownership for donated land must be acceptable to the Secretary. Using donated funds, the Secretary may buy needed tracts at prices he finds reasonable, or if necessary acquire land through a legal taking under section 3113 of title 40. The Secretary may also buy up to four acres with appropriated funds for the Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial.
