Title 16 › Chapter 2— NATIONAL FORESTS › Subchapter I— ESTABLISHMENT AND ADMINISTRATION › § 521a
U.S. lands inside national forest boundaries that are acquired for national forests or transferred to the Forest Service must follow the Weeks Act of March 1, 1911 (36 Stat. 961) and the other laws that apply to national forest lands. Lands taken out of the public domain or obtained by land-or-timber exchanges, and lands inside town or city limits, are excluded. This does not affect revested Oregon and California Railroad grant lands under the Act of June 24, 1954 (68 Stat. 270), nor revenue or exchange rules in the Acts of February 11, 1920 (ch. 69, 41 Stat. 405); September 22, 1922 (ch. 407, 42 Stat. 1019); and June 4, 1936 (ch. 494, 49 Stat. 1460).
