The President must send a report to the relevant congressional committees within 180 days after the subtitle takes effect and then every 180 days. The report must describe the reconciliations and verifications done under the law, say how U.S. importers were chosen for those checks, report any penalties that were imposed, point out patterns of noncompliance, and note any problems or obstacles in carrying out the law. The Secretary of Commerce must report every 180 days after June 18, 2008 on any subsidies from exporting countries for softwood lumber or softwood lumber products, including stumpage subsidies. The Comptroller General must send two reports: one within 18 months after June 18, 2008 on how effective the reconciliations and verifications were, and one within 12 months after June 18, 2008 on whether exporting countries are following any international agreements with the United States.
