Title 33 › Chapter 27— OCEAN DUMPING › Subchapter II— RESEARCH › § 1444
Each March, the Secretary of Commerce must send Congress a report about work done under this subchapter in the past fiscal year. The report must cover four things: the Secretary’s findings about dumping (including an assessment of immediate environmental harm and the social and economic effects), the results of actions taken under section 1442, a list of short- and long-term research needs agreed with the Administrator and other federal agencies and how federal research will meet them, and the Department’s work under section 665 of title 16. Each March, the Administrator must also report to Congress on work under section 1443 from the prior fiscal year. On October 31 each year, the Under Secretary must report the specific NOAA and EPA programs done under this subchapter in the prior fiscal year and state how much money was spent on each.
