When there is a general Federal pay raise, the Secretary must raise the maximum amounts for a set of Veterans Affairs education payments. The increases apply to any school year that ends in the fiscal year when the pay raise takes effect. Each new maximum is the old maximum multiplied by the overall percentage of the General Schedule pay increase, then rounded down to the next lower dollar. Definitions (one line each): Maximum monthly stipend amount is the highest monthly scholarship payment under the Scholarship Program. Maximum tuition reimbursement amount is the top tuition refund paid under the Tuition Reimbursement Program. Maximum Selected Reserve member stipend amount is the highest payment for Selected Reserve assistance. Maximum employee incentive scholarship amount is the top scholarship under the VA Employee Incentive Scholarship Program. Maximum education debt reduction payments amount is the highest debt-reduction payment under that VA program. General Federal pay increase is a raise in General Schedule pay rates. Specialty education loan repayment amount is the top repayment under the Specialty Education Loan Repayment Program.
