The Architect of the Capitol must lease the Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building through a deal with the company that builds it so the chapter’s goals are met. The lease can be no more than 30 years. Rent per usable square foot must be set in the government’s interest and must at least equal the amount needed to pay off the cost to develop squares 721 and 722 over the lease. The Architect may make and sublease space under section 6506 and add other terms needed. Lease payments can only be obligated each year and must come from the account named in section 6507.
