Title 40 › Subtitle SUBTITLE II— PUBLIC BUILDINGS AND WORKS › Part C— FEDERAL BUILDING COMPLEXES › Chapter 65— THURGOOD MARSHALL FEDERAL JUDICIARY BUILDING › § 6505
The Architect of the Capitol must care for the Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building and its grounds. That means keeping up the building’s structure and mechanical systems the same way they do for the Supreme Court Building under section 6111, and doing all other work needed to run and maintain the building. The United States Capitol Police must provide outside security and may patrol and make arrests inside or outside for violations of federal, state, or D.C. law. The Marshal of the Supreme Court still has the duty to protect justices and court staff who use the building. The Architect must transfer funds from the account in section 6507 to reimburse the Capitol Police, and the Police may accept and credit those payments to their security account.
