The Director must give members of the National Civilian Community Corps certain benefits. While members are in training or working on a Corps project they must get a living allowance up to 100 percent of the poverty line for a family of two, as defined by the Office of Management and Budget and revised each year under section 9902(2) of this title. The Director may also provide allowances for travel and personal costs, housing, meals, transportation, equipment, uniforms, supplies, and other program services. The Director may offer health care, child care, counseling, and other supportive services. When a member finishes their agreed service, they must choose either the national service educational award described in Division D (if they qualify under section 12602) or a cash benefit. If the member is not eligible for the Division D award, the Director may give a suitable alternative benefit.
