§13214 Federal Agency Promotion, Education, and Coordination

Summary

The Secretary must encourage use of alternative-fuel vehicles and train federal officials and employees about their benefits, working with the Administrator of General Services. They must give agencies information on where to refuel and service these vehicles, how far and how well they perform, related state, local, and commercial programs, what the federal government buys and where it places these vehicles, how to operate and maintain them per the maker’s instructions, and on incentive programs under sections 13215 and 13216. The Secretary, with the General Services Administrator, must also give guidance, coordination, and technical help to agencies buying and siting alternative-fuel vehicles purchased through the Administrator of General Services. Those purchases must follow the requirements in section 13212.
