Title 42 › Chapter 12— COMPENSATION FOR INJURY, DEATH, OR DETENTION OF EMPLOYEES OF CONTRACTORS WITH UNITED STATES OUTSIDE UNITED STATES › Subchapter I— COMPENSATION, REIMBURSEMENT, ETC., BY SECRETARY OF LABOR › § 1702
For cases covered by section 1701, the payment rules and amounts found in sections 908 and 909 of Title 33 must be used instead of most of the benefits under subchapter I of chapter 81 of Title 5. Medical benefits from Title 5 are not replaced. Total payments for an injury or death cannot be higher than the limits in section 914(m) of Title 33 as it may be changed, but never lower than what the original law set. To figure out how much to pay, use the rules in sections 906 and 910 of Title 33. Do not apply the minimum weekly disability limit in section 906(b) or the minimum average weekly wage rule in section 909(e) when computing payments under this subchapter.
