Title 42 › Chapter 152— ENERGY INDEPENDENCE AND SECURITY › Subchapter IV— ENERGY SAVINGS IN GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS › Part B— Energy Efficiency in Federal Agencies › § 17143
Each federal agency that must follow this law must prepare and send one annual Government efficiency status report to the Director of the Office of Management and Budget. The report must cover three things: whether the agency is meeting the law’s requirements, how it is carrying out efforts to save energy, cut energy costs, and lower greenhouse gas emissions, and the dollar savings to taxpayers from the required improvements. Agencies must send the report when the Director asks, send it electronically (not on paper), and make it follow any related reporting rules.
