Title 42 › CHAPTER 6A — PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE › SUBCHAPTER XXI — RESEARCH WITH RESPECT TO ACQUIRED IMMUNE DEFICIENCY SYNDROME › Part D — Office of AIDS Research › subpart i — interagency coordination of activities › § 300cc–40a
Speed up putting into action the federal strategic plan required by section 283(a) for research and development of a microbicide to prevent HIV transmission. Review the plan and, if needed, change it so funding and work go first to the most urgent science and to products closest to being ready for the market. While doing this, the Director must talk with other federal leaders involved (including the Coordinator of United States Government Activities to Combat HIV/AIDS Globally, the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Administrator of USAID), with the microbicide research and development community, and with health advocates.
