§9903 Authorization of Appropriations

Summary

Money may be appropriated as needed for each fiscal year 1999 through 2003 to carry out this chapter, except for sections 9922 and 9923. Each year the Secretary must set aside parts of that money: one-half of 1 percent (0.5%) for payments to territories under section 9905; 1½ percent for the activities in sections 9913–9918, with at least half of that 1½ percent paid directly to eligible groups named in section 9913(c)(2), and half of the remainder used by the Secretary for evaluations and to help States with corrective actions and monitoring as described in sections 9914(c) and 9913; and 9 percent for the discretionary activities in section 9921 and section 9917(b)(2).
