Title 44 › Chapter 7— CONGRESSIONAL PRINTING AND BINDING › § 733
Lets the Government Publishing Office director reprint committee documents or parts of them when a Member of Congress orders it and pays the cost in advance. The director must also give Members and the Resident Commissioner from Puerto Rico blank franks for public documents at no charge, either on perforated sheets or single. Franks must show either "Public document. United States Senate" or "House of Representatives U.S." in the upper left and the letters "U.S.S." or "M. C." in the upper right. They may include missing-children information under section 3220 of Title 39. At a Member’s request, the director may print extra words on franks or envelopes, like a facsimile signature, a return request, place names, the Member’s name and State, the date, or a short topic line not over twelve words. Any extra printing costs must be paid by the Member. Money received is put into the U.S. Treasury for the Government Publishing Office working capital and is reported in the director’s annual report to Congress.
