Defines key words used in this part. An agency means an Executive agency, a military department, or the government of the District of Columbia. A student-employee means students placed at an agency-run hospital, clinic, or medical/dental lab for training. It includes student nurses, medical or dental interns, residents, student dietitians, student physical therapists, student occupational therapists, and any other students so placed if the agency head names them and the Office of Personnel Management approves.
