Under rules from the Office of Personnel Management, the Office can require agencies to take steps to help employees who get benefits under sections 5362 or 5363. Agencies may have to report vacancies (including ones coming up), help those employees gain needed qualifications to avoid using the benefits, run programs that give them priority for jobs at the grade or pay they kept, and place some employees into other agencies when the Office finds it necessary to meet these goals.
