Federal funds can pay to move an employee’s immediate family, household goods, and personal effects when the employee is sent to a place the agency head calls a zone that requires evacuation or that bars family. If the duty station allows family, funds may move them from the designated or alternate location. Pet shipping and quarantine costs are covered. Agency rules must, as practicable, follow section 453(c)–(d) of title 37 on pet type, size, and number.
