An employee can't be charged leave for up to one year if they are absent because of an injury that (1) happened while they were serving abroad and was caused by war, insurgency, mob violence, or other hostile actions, and (2) was not the result of the employee's bad habits, excessive drinking, or intentional wrongdoing.
