Title 7 › CHAPTER 50 — AGRICULTURAL CREDIT › SUBCHAPTER VI — DELTA REGIONAL AUTHORITY › § 2009aa–3
Recognizes that some States and local areas may not be able to use federal grant programs because they cannot afford the required match or because the grant program has too little money to meet urgent needs. To help, the Authority, with the Federal cochair’s approval, can raise the federal share of a project’s cost to as much as 90 percent (except as provided in section 2009aa–5(b)). The extra federal share must be paid from amounts set aside under this part of the law. No federal money is paid until the federal official in charge of the grant program confirms the project meets the program’s rules and could be approved if funds were available. The Authority’s own approvals and paperwork control how projects are approved, and federal agencies and the Federal cochair must accept those findings and documents.
