§6951 Under Secretary of Agriculture for Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services

Summary

Creates a new job in the Department called the Under Secretary of Agriculture for Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services. If the job is set up, the person must be picked by the President and confirmed by the Senate. The Secretary must give the Under Secretary the Department’s food, nutrition, and consumer service duties (except as stated in section 6981(b)(1)). The Under Secretary must also do other tasks required by law or given by the Secretary. An Assistant Secretary who held the post on October 13, 1994, and was a Presidential appointee confirmed by the Senate does not need to be reappointed if moved into the new job within 180 days after October 13, 1994, or later if the Secretary delays because of litigation.
