Possible import ban during 60‑day review

The U.S. International Trade Commission received a complaint filed January 13, 2025 about certain polyvinylidene fluoride resins. The complainant asked the Commission to issue a limited exclusion order, cease and desist orders, and to impose a bond on the allegedly infringing articles during the 60-day Presidential review period under 19 U.S.C. 1337(j). If the Commission grants those remedies, imports and U.S. sales of the named resins could be blocked during that review.

Potential demand shift to U.S. resin makers

The Commission asks commenters to identify like or directly competitive articles made in the United States and whether complainant or other U.S. suppliers have the capacity to replace the volume of articles subject to any exclusion or cease and desist order within a commercially reasonable time. If imports were excluded, U.S. producers identified in those comments could be called on to replace the blocked imports.
